Is the Blue Studios NFT Metaverse a real metaverse or is it figurative?
Blueniverse Updates and Ideas
The NFT space is red-hot for early adopters. And one of the main terms being thrown around is the notion of the metaverse. Common questions are: Will any company be the metaverse for X? Will there be one central metaverse? Are there going to be hundreds of thousands of independent metaverses operating seamlessly yet will distinctly work together and function powered by everyone’s NFTs?
Great questions that I don’t have the answer to, but what I will say is that we will have our own. Not for our ego, but so we can provide a unique experience based on our unique view of the world. A world where you can buy things, own things, use them in a synthetic layer on the internet, and be fully compatible with many devices and platforms. We want it to be super fun and entertaining and the unique spin is that we want the metaverse to mirror many of the things we have in the animated series. It’s our digital theme park!
Why is this important? Because we believe one without the other is missing out on a unique opportunity. What makes Disney parks special is that some of the elements of its content give the rides another level of significance. Whether it’s the Ratatouille ride in Disney and they create it from the perspective of Remy the rat, so the proportions are enormous, that connection between art, entertainment, and the story is important to us. We don’t believe in doing things without intention or purpose because everyone else is doing it.
So here’s our plan around our metaverse, aka the Blueniverse. We’re going to launch a series of mini-games around various elements of the Blueniverse while parallel building our metaverse. In the NFT world, a week feels like a month, and a month feels like a quarter, and a quarter feels like a year. We know our community doesn’t have 2-3 years to wait for us. We need to break up different elements into smaller, bite-sized PvP and PvE games that we can launch fast, show our capabilities, and if the game has successful elements, we’ll incorporate that into the Blueniverse. It’s like building the Super Nintendo but launching the regular Nintendo first with a bevy of games to get feedback, iterate, and add to the ultimate game, or our Super Nintendo (for our old-school gamers). And then we can show how Play-to-Earn and Learn-to-Earn can be used at the same time without compromising.
